Throughout 2025, Sefton Support Group has welcomed a wide range of organisations and individuals to lead our monthly Community Wellbeing Sessions.
Each session has brought something new. From physical and emotional health insights to practical advice and inspiring stories. Together, these sessions have helped us grow as a community, connect with one another, and strengthen the support we offer.
Here’s a look back at the year, and a look forward to what’s next in 2026.
January 2025 – Meet Jan Ord – Cosmic Minds
We began the year with Jan Ord, who led a heartfelt session exploring the role of community in personal wellbeing. Her insights helped set the tone for a year of meaningful connection and support.
February 2025 – Prostate Health
This vital session highlighted the importance of men’s health, offering education and open discussion around prostate cancer, screening, and support services for those affected.
March 2025 – Discover Tai Chi & Qigong with Amanda
A calming and inspiring introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong, Amanda guided us through how these ancient practices can improve balance, reduce stress, and support overall wellbeing.
April 2025 – Financial & Legal Wellbeing with Chris Bates
Chris Bates joined us to provide practical guidance on managing finances and understanding legal matters during times of illness or change. A session packed with useful, easy-to-digest information.
May 2025 – Understanding Learning Disabilities with Mencap Liverpool & Sefton
Mencap helped us better understand the experiences of people with learning disabilities. The session explored barriers, rights, and how we can create more inclusive spaces for everyone.
June 2025 – Raising Awareness with #STEMCELLSCOUSERS
We were joined by Kevin from #STEMCELLSCOUSERS for a powerful session raising awareness of stem cell donation and the life-saving impact it can have. A moving and motivating talk.
July 2025 – Cooking with Liz CIC
Liz shared her journey of supporting young people and care leavers through practical cooking skills. Her passion for food and community inspired many of us to reconnect with the joy of eating well.
August 2025 – Meet Your Social Prescriber
This session introduced the important role of social prescribers in bridging the gap between health services and community support. Attendees learned how to access help tailored to their needs.
September 2025 – Practical & Compassionate Support with Funeral Experts
The Funeral Experts joined us to talk about planning ahead, grief, and the practicalities that follow a loss. It was an honest, reassuring conversation that many found helpful and comforting.
October 2025 – Life’s for Living Sefton: Understanding ADHD, Autism & Neurodiversity
A powerful session with Mel and Leanne from Life’s for Living Sefton, exploring neurodiversity, diagnosis, and how understanding leads to better support and acceptance in the community.
November 2025 – Swan Women’s Centre

Our final session of the year will feature the Swan Women’s Centre, offering insights into the mental health and wellbeing support they provide for women across Sefton. A fitting end to a year of connection.

Looking Ahead: January 2026 – Sefton Carers Centre
We’re kicking off 2026 with a visit from Sefton Carers Centre. This session will focus on the needs of unpaid carers in our community, offering recognition, support, and signposting for vital services.
Every session has reinforced our belief in the power of community. We’re incredibly grateful to all who attended, contributed, and shared their stories. With more sessions ahead in 2026, we hope you’ll continue the journey with us.
